Smoky Mountain Waterfalls: Henwallow Falls

Smoky mountain river calm stream with rocks in autumn fall leaves nature

Henwallow Falls is near Cosby Campground just south of Cosby, Tennessee. It is a moderate trail that is a 4.4 mile roundtrip. This trail is the least busy trail compared to the Smokies other area falls. This makes for a pleasant walk through a hemlock, polar and rhododendron forest to the top of the falls. A side trail leads to the base of the falls in a series of switchbacks. Hen Wallow Creek, only two feet wide at the top of the falls, fans out to a width of twenty feet at the base. This is an easy trail except for a few hundred feet before the falls.
